With Every Child Matters (ECM), the government set out clear aims and objectives to help improve the lives of children and young people. As providers of teaching specialists and coaches, we champion ECM. 

So you can book a J&C Academy P.E, music, or language specialist for your school in confidence. Because not only will we achieve the 5 outcomes defined in ECM, but we will surpass its aims and objectives:

Staying Safe: 

The safety and welfare of children is our number 1 priority, and we will do everything in our power to protect children from harm and neglect. 

To help ensure the safety and well-being of your pupils, all of our coaches are certified first aiders and have attended the Child Protection Workshop and/or Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop, which are governed by the UKCC (United Kingdom Certificate in Coaching). All staff have CRB clearance.

 

We believe that a healthy lifestyle is key to living a happier, more productive life. And we practice what we preach - many of our coaches are former professional or semi-professional athletes who are dedicated to following a healthy lifestyle. Passionate about the importance of health, our coaches are active role models with the ability to inspire people of all ages, especially children.

Children learn more effectively when they have set goals and stimulating, enjoyable activities. These factors are at the heart of our specially designed lesson plans, which provide cross-curricular learning, follow the National Curriculum, and also placing an emphasis on active involvement and fun. 

Through our enjoyable sports sessions, your pupils will develop leadership skills, teamwork, self-confidence, self-discipline and a variety of skill sets.

Inclusion is a key element of the J&C Academy strategy. All of our lessons are designed to encourage active participation and to help pupils fulfill their potential, irrespective of their background. 

Our coaches are trained to understand the importance of inclusion and are adept at working with ‘challenging’ pupils and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Making a positive contribution:

Being involved with the community and society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour.

 

Through sport, music and languages we can help young people to respect themselves and others, appreciate the importance of community and to take an active role in society. This helps to tackle the problems of anti-social behavior from an early age as pupils learn respect for themselves and for their peers. 

For us, there’s no greater reward than seeing young people we have taught for many years develop into healthy, well-balanced and productive adults. Several of our former students have developed into professional or semi-professional athletes, and we have also trained former students to become coaches here at J&C Academy.
