J&C Academy are committed to delivering lessons, courses and activities that provide Long Term Child Development (LTCD).With our specially designed programmes, experienced and knowledgeable teachers, and enthusiasm, we can help young people to achieve more in and out of the classroom. And because we place an emphasis on long term child development, the lessons we teach provide your pupils with skills and knowledge that will help them throughout their lives.
We promote long term child development by teaching the 4 Rs:
Resilience - We help children to develop a positive and willing attitude, so they become resilient to problems and have the confidence to seek solutions
Resourcefulness - We teach children to learn in different ways (audio / visual / kinetic learning)
Reflectiveness - We encourage children to develop the ability to analyse their own performance and practices.
Reciprocity - We develop children's ability to work and learn effectively as individuals and as members of a team.
In sport, the long term development of an athlete begins with training the mind to operate in a positive manner at all times. Life outside of sport is no different - by teaching children to develop a positive outlook, we can help them to develop a passion for learning and self-improvement. With this mind set, your pupils will strive to develop their skills and help others to achieve more.
Helping Children to Work Effectively Alone and In Groups
We believe that children should have PRIDE - Personal Responsibility In Developing Excellence. Taking responsibility for your own actions and fulfilling a role in a team effort are key elements of our coaching ethos.
We teach children to work more effectively as individuals and as team members by using specially designed activities. Through the use of visual imagery and coaching/teaching skills, we can demonstrate effectively and teach children to analyse situations. This makes learning easier and encourages your pupils to ask "why" and "how" and to develop their problem solving skills.
