"I am
absolutely delighted with the work that J&C Academy are doing here
at Featherstone Primary & Nursery School. They deliver all of our extended
schools sports activities and they also deliver our PPA. In doing that they
work with children throughout the school; all ages, and delivering all aspects
of the PE curriculum. It's not only their determination that children will
succeed in their sporting skills but also they care about the whole child, the
team work, the development of self confidence and the whole ethos around
sports. When OFSTED were here they also commented on the high quality of the PE
lessons"
Kate Bailey, Head-teacher, Featherstone Primary and Nursery School
"We have used J&C Academy to provide a cost effective solution to our PPA cover needs. Their staff are flexible and adaptable and have become a positive part of our teaching team. I have every confidence in their management of whole classes and in their delivery of high quality teaching and learning."
Karen Dhanecha, Head teacher, Park Way Primary School
"Opera House Kung Fu has been an excellent addition to the school's timetable this year. The children are very enthusiastic and keen to improve. Core physical skills such as balance and coordination are developed, as well as discipline and concentration. The lessons are fun and fast paced, resulting in the children always being on task. Children are also given the opportunity to lead and demonstrate sequences which helps to embed what they have learnt as well as improve their confidence and self esteem. The pupils demonstrate inner calm and the ability to focus during the Tai Chi section at the end of each lesson.
In conclusion, I believe these lessons have been very beneficial to the children, a true success! Our pupils respect their instructor and our staff have learnt a great deal from these lessons."
Maureen Rafferty, Deputy Head Teacher, Whitchurch First School
We, at Argyle Primary School have been very impressed with the level of service provided by J&C Academy. Peter Nagy, our coach, has taught excellent lessons and formed good relationships with all children from nursery through to year 6. The children have benefitted from high quality teaching and have been able to improve their team sport skills in particular. J&C Academy have also provided a variety of after school clubs, including gymnastics and multi-skills, which have been popular and children are enthusiastic to work with Coach Peter further. We have been very happy with the quality of service given for our PPA cover.
Clare Peterkin, PE Coordinator, Argyle Primary School
"I have been using the services of J&C Academy for the past 6 years. J&C provide excellent service for this school at highly competitive rates. Over the past 6 years, J&C Academy have delivered a range of lessons including hockey, basketball, athletics, cricket and multi-sports. During my association with Jazz and the rest of the team they have always provided a service that is reliable, well organised, matched the needs of the children, safe and has high regard for the welfare of children. J&C Academy are always looking to try new ideas and initiatives to promote the health, fitness and well-being of children and I would certainly recommend them as a provider of quality service within this field of education."
Laurence Keel, Head-teacher, Kilburn Park School
"The sports coaches planned the activities well, were well organised with equipment, spoke to the children appropriately and motivated the children throughout the afternoon. The children enjoyed the activites because of the high expectations of the coaches. I believe J&C Academy are a very professional organisation and work well within the school's framework for delivering Physical Education"
Bob Gardner, Deputy Head-teacher, Priory Primary School
"I have been working with J&C Academy for over 2 years. From the outset, they showed a true commitment to excellence and uplifting standards. They went beyond the call of duty by providing support where they could. Their many strong points include lessons of the highest Quality, professional coaches, strong leadership and their ability to meet regularly. Their lessons are always well planned and delivered to the highest standards. They ensure a wide range of activities that the children enjoyed tremendously. Their lessons appeal to children of varying abilities and all children are engaged. They offer lessons in all three disciplines of PE via Gymnastics Games and Dance. Needless to say, their lessons in all three disciplines are outstanding!"
Although they have many strong points, one of them stands out, worth of comment. J&C Academy is led by an outstanding individual. Jazz is always 'on the ball'. He is ahead of the game with the freshest ideas...He ensures his staff are well qualified and their skills are kept up to date. He is a great motivator and manager.
Donald Mathray, St Ethelbert's Primary School
"We are very pleased with the delivery of our P.E lessons and with Peter. He fits in well with the ethos of the school and we know that we are going to have a high quality of P.E lessons when our teachers are on their PAR (Planning Assessment Recording and Reporting) time. We also like the consistency of having the same coach each day and he is a good role model for the children. We recently had a review of teaching and learning, and Peter was a solid good."
Jemima Wade, Acting Headteacher, Argyle Primary School
The 'Kung Fu Kids' workshops contrasted really well with the other days' work shops for Sports Week; it was a great climax.
The mixture of Shaolin, Kung fu and Tai Chi for the 35 minute sessions was perfectly balanced; a completely new experience for all. The children loved it, the staff thought the instructors were brilliant.
It is evident that the instructors, Shem and Zibby are totally dedicated and passionate about their art. Their 20 minute demonstration at the start of the day was very impressive and informative.
To see the children responding so well and becoming more focused and centred through the hard and demanding exercises and movements during each session was delightful.
I would thoroughly recommend J&C Academy - Kung Fu Kids to any school looking for a different sport / discipline.
Peter Sawicki, St James Junior School
"The coaches are professional and reliable with excellent coaching skills. They really are first class! They are consistent and fair with the children who all benefit from the expertise and skills. They manage challenging behaviour very well. I would highly recommend their service to anyone interested in providing a safe, effective provision for all children."
Sue Townson, Head-teacher, Viking Primary School
"As part of our sports provision after school, we have been using J&C Academy for delivering Street Dance. Siobhan Witter who teaches the children is well organised with the sessions being well structured and her ideas engage the children. Siobhan teaches the dance to the children but also allows them to express themselves using their own ideas. Her enthusiasm rubs off on the children and they always look forward to the sessions. The children have performed their dances as part of the schools dance evening which Siobhan supported."
Clare Brown, Vaughan Primary School
"We have been using J&C Academy for an after school multi-sports club this year.
We have been very happy with their provision. The club has been popular with those attending and they have made good progress in a range of skills. The instructors have made the sessions fun and have struck up good relationships with the group. Parents have been very happy also.I am happy to recommend them as excellent sports providers

We have been delivering Opera House Kung Fu during the school day at Kenmore Park Infants School. We have also been delivering lunchtime multi-sports and after school football and dance clubs.
"The children have really enjoyed the sessions throughout the school day (Opera House Kung Fu). The teaching of skills and stances are re-enforced through the game 'SiFu says' which the children love."
"Ciara (PE Specialist) is full of energy and has a great manner with the children. She is firm, bubbly and energetic, which we love and the children need that sort of delivery. She relates to the children well and engages them with activities both inside and outside. We look forward to her returning to us in the Autumn term for both activities."
Rutinder Mahil-Pooney, Head-teacher, Kenmore Park Infants School
"We're very impressed with the sports coach who has done Tai Chi with a huge group of children and is really working hard to keep them busy. We love the Tai Chi ~ just what they need."
Angela Briggs, Headteacher, Dormers Wells Infants School
Thank you for attending our Black History Month Event at Brent Town Hall in October 2010. The positive contribution was very much enjoyed and appreciated by all, including the Mayor of Brent. The students danced confidently and gracefully: their ability to captivate an audience at their young age was surely empowering and a testimony to the excellent work of J&C Academy. I am sure that you will continue to do fantastic projects across London by being great role models and stimulating the minds of children so that they can develop social skills that will enhance their development and ability to engage with others in a positive and productive manner. It was a pleasure to work with J&C Academy.
Ayo Mayers, Brent Community Support Office
J&C Academy come to our school every week to do multi-skills sporting activities with the children at lunchtime. The children love working with them, and are enthused and challenged every week. J&C Academy always have fun activities and there is always positive feedback regarding the children's enjoyment. We have also participated in the Fit For Fun Campaign and the children, although exhausted - loved every minute of it. We are very pleased with what J&C Academy provide, their professionalism, as well as their manner with the children.
Carmen Renshaw, PE Coordinator, St George the Martyr Primary School, Camden
"Jazz (J&C Academy MD) is a fine young man with many excellent qualities. During the two years that he has run the schools games clubs all the children have learnt many skills to a high level, as Jazz provides fun, challenging and inclusive exercises in a safe environment. Within his sessions, he promotes an ethos of good health and best practice with conviction, as he himself is an excellent role model. Jazz is commited to improving the life and health of children by sharing his passion, incorporating team spirit and emphasizing good communication skills. He has gained excellent relationships with parents and they value his sense of fairness and good control. I wish Jazz all the best for his future, as he deserves to go far within his professional career."
